October 2021

Linda NMI Joy - We are trying to get a reprint done by the end of the year for Linda.

The Secret in

Morris Valley
is out of print, and we have only a very few copies in our inventory. It is a paranormal gothic novella, so a short book. I am studying potential book covers right now. I have one I like that has a woman's eyes in the top half of the front cover, and a howling wolf in the bottom half. This alludes to the newcomer in the valley, Ondrea. The paranormal comes in because the wolves in the valley are not 'normal' wolves. The problem I have with that cover is that there might not be enough 'blank space' for the title, and I can't experiment to see until I actually buy the artwork.
Wolf

So I'm also looking at a simpler cover, one which has a dark sky and a stark white moon silhouetting a howling wolf. Plenty of room for the title, but surprisingly, this one costs a little more. The bean counter part of me says it isn't cost-effective to spend a few more dollars on a cover for a short book, while the cover designer insists the title should be plenty large, and not lost in the details of the cover.

So I'll ask those of you who might read a book that involves werewolves and romance, would the cover of the eyes and the wolf grab your attention better than a wolf silhouette against a full moon? Eyes & Wolf? Or just Wolf? Drop your vote in the comment section below, or send me an email at Human@MoonPhaze.com. Please let me know what you think by the end of October, so I have a chance to get this done by the end of the year.

By the way, the description of this book is up on MoonPhaze.com. The story hasn't changed, only the cover will. You can still get a first edition, and we'll have Linda autograph it before we ship it out. The current price is only $5.00 plus shipping.

SHIPPING DEPARTMENT WILL BE CLOSING FOR 10 DAYS IN OCTOBER. Being such a small business, we find it easier to close a department for a few days, rather than have someone else do the job and leave a mess for that department when they get back from vacation. Our Shipping Department will be closed from October 15 to October 25, 2021. Please make a note of it. Any orders that come in during that time will be fulfilled as soon as they get back on Oct 25th.

COMING EVENT WE WILL BE AT: We will be in the dealer's room at the Villicon event January 21-23, 2022. This will be held at the Doubletree at the Universal Studios entrance, 5780 Major Blvd, Orlando. For more information on this event, please visit Villicon.com. We are so excited to be getting back to conventions and events!

John Lars Shoberg - John had shoulder surgery early in August, and he is still recovering from that. He finds that it is difficult to write at this time, because with his body just sitting at his desk, he tends to doze off. I am sure that will all straighten out with a little more time, and he'll be back to writing. In the meantime, we are waiting for his book cover artwork from a very talented artist for his next book, And the Meek Shall Inherit... Naturally, this is a piece of science fiction, because that's all he writes.

Humans arrive at Lankmere, whose inhabitants have never experienced war of any size. The humans want to know how such a thing is possible. Before long, however, another race arrives that seems determined to eliminate all the Lankmerans, and it's up to the humans to see that doesn't happen.

We anticipate that And the Meek Shall Inherit... will go on pre-order status on November 1, 2021.

MoonPhrazes April 2022

MoonPhrazes    April 2022 I spent March building a new website, as part of a new marketing campaign. I'm not quite done building it, but it should be up and running in the next few days. After that, I need to update the contents of at least one of our e-books, and get it started through the machinery that is distribution. At that point, I will be doing an Addendum to this month's newsletter. I will be announcing that you can get a particular book for FREE at your favorite e-book supplier. And also, that it will be possible to get a 2nd book free, if you want it. So, keep your eyes open for that Addendum. This will be the best offer we have made since... well, forever.

MoonPhrazes May 2022

The best laid plans of mice and... well, anybody, really. We've all had it happen to us, right? You were working on a project and something came up so that you had to put it aside for a week or two. Then before you could get started on that project again, something else intruded and you aren't sure when you'll be able to get back to that project. In the first half of April, I was re-formatting a number of our ebooks so that they would look nicer. More professional. How hard could that be? Well, unfortunately, it was not as easy as it sounded. When I checked the final formatting, every one of them had something wrong with it, and I was going on vacation and couldn't spare the time to get them fixed before I had to leave. Bummer! I did take a number of them with me on a thumb drive so I could work on them, but we packed the Apple laptop and not the Lenovo. The Apple doesn't have Word on it, so I couldn't work on them after all. Double Bummer! As we wer...
